I love it when The Beautiful People turn out to have beautiful minds as well. Makes them interesting, and even more beautiful.

Uma Thurman, obviously beautiful, is just such a person. Seems fascinatingly interesting and deep. She’s one of those people who seems like they’d make a good dinner companion. If, that is, she eats. If not, she could just talk while I ate.

I read a recent interview where Uma was talking about not talking about her ex-husband Ethan Hawke. In respect to their children she said she refused to ever say anything negative about him. Classy. Apparently the break-up was ugly, leaving her standing in the ruins trying to rebuild.

She likened herself to the Six Million Dollar Man, saying that she’s, “remaking my life better than it was before.” As someone who is obsessed with great self help philosophies and literally gets giddy over great quotes, I freakin’ love that analogy! the 6M$ man, Steve somethingoranother, came back from disaster better than ever before – stronger, faster, smarter, and more powerful.

Sure, I could go on and point out how we could each do that, how we should think of the 6M$ man and Uma when we’re in our own ruins, but you’re perfectly capable of drawing your own conclusions and writing the next chapter of your life. Just remember, just because the chapter that just ended didn’t do so on a good note, doesn’t mean the next one can’t make beautiful music. After all, you’re the author!!!

P.S. On a totally different road here, but I also love that so many of Hollywood’s hottest people right now are over 35! – Uma Thurman, Johnny Depp, Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, Halle Berry, Diane Lane, Nicolette Sheridan, Terri Hatcher, Nicole Kidman, Sandra Bullock, Keanu Reeves, Ashley Judd, Jennifer Aniston, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Antonio Banderas……

  • It’s cool to hear about someone making such strong, empowering decisions following a marriage breakup, especially given all the intense focus that usually shines on a celebrity breakup. Oftentimes the disintegration of the individual following a divorce is even more painful to witness than the failure of the relationship.

    I enjoyed visiting your blog.

  • I think Uma is one of the brighter celebs.. she seems to have her act together.

(Not sure about whether she eats or not, though… doesn’t look like she eats more than one meal a week. she is pretty, though!)

    I enjoyed this post!!

  • Thanks so much, Andrew, Brittany and Steph!

I agree, Andrew – she’s handling herself a lot better than most. She sets an example for what the rest of the celebs should strive to do.

Brittany – ITA, she’s very, very pretty. What a face!

Steph – I’m all about the Depp, too!!!
