Shakespeare on Good Deeds

by Joi on September 24, 2005

“How far that little candle throws his beam!
So shines a good deed in a naughty world.
Heaven doth with us as we with torches do;
Not light them for themselves; for if our virtues
Did not go forth of us, ’twere all alike
As if we had them not.” -William Shakespeare

Katrina ripped apart one of the most amazing cities in our country. She brought about more heartache and grief than most of us can even stand to think about.

She waved a red flag before the eyes of childish, opportunistic politicians and flamed fires of controversy that really just make my head hurt.

She even affected gas prices.

However, she has also brought to light a lot of kindness, generosity and love. In a time where we see so much ugliness from the human race, it’s awfully refreshing to see so much beauty.

Make each moment count double,
