Rise to the Occasion

If you watch much baseball, I know you’ve heard the phrase “clutch player”. That’s the David Eckstein type of guy. He’s the one who, when everything’s on the line, WILL find a way to come through with a game-winning hit or defensive play. He’ll do what needs to be done in order to git ‘er done.

Other players, who may even have more God-given talent will choke under pressure, but the clutch player can’t even spell choke. In fact, when the game’s on the line, it’s often one of these “superior” athletes that our gutsy guys stare down and snatch victory away from.

There’s just something in them that “shows up” when it’s needed most. Although they seem unaware of the stakes, in all actuality, I think they thrive on the pressure!

“When someone says you can’t do something, you don’t listen to them. If you believe in yourself, anything is possible for you.” - David Eckstein
