For NOT Crying Out Loud, Eat Your Vegetables!

If mental and emotional health are high on your list of priorities, put down and step away from the fast food. Mayo Clinic reports that individuals who skimp on vegetables are more prone to suffer from depression. The reason? Deficiencies in folic acid and B-12.

Both of these mentally vital vitamins play a role in producing neurotransmitters that are necessary for regulating mood. Nutritional experts suggest that we pair dark, leafy greens rich in folic acid (such as spinach or broccoli) with shellfish or fish, which contain high amounts of B-12.

Spinach and broccoli are easily added to your daily diet - toss them into either a tossed salad or a pasta salad. Broccoli can also be served with a Ranch dip or steamed with a little lemon.

At the risk of going all Partridge on you, Come on get happy… eat your vegetables!

Make each moment count double,
