Winning The Battle Against Addictions
by: TMFC
I can't even begin to imagine the strength it must take to overcome an addiction. It has to be one of the hardest things a person can undertake. The hardest battle a human can face is the one against the human with whom they share a face.
If we're battling someone else, we can pull out all the stops. We can do what we have to do to outsmart, outmuscle ane outlast them. But how do you go up against someone that's exactly as smart and strong as you are, with the exact same amount of endurance?!
Part of the secret lies in the numbers.
Essentially, it's a battle of your weakness (the addiction) and your strength (the resolve to end the addiction). The more people you have supporting your strength, the better your chances are of winning. I believe that's why AA and other such groups are so popular. There's safety and strength in numbers.
Always keep in mind that the addiction springs forth from a weakness inside of you, whereas your resolve springs forth from your inner strength.
Strength > Weakness!
If you are currently "rounding up" information on overcoming addictions, your strength is on top. Congratulations!
If you are set against joining an organized community support group, try to find one online that you can become a part of. Whatever you do, build a network of people who care around you. People who will listen when you need to talk and provide a shoulder when you need it. You'll be needing both.
In addition to family and friends, it would be a good idea to have an online network of friends for support, too. Sometimes you'll need someone to talk to when no one else is around.
Please feel free to email us as often as you'd like. This website was "born" out of a need to help others and make a difference. Nothing would honor us more than to provide support where support is needed. We'd be honored for you to become a member of our online family. Contact us anytime, we check our e-mail about a hundred times a day!
